Dr Ipeleng Prudent Matshitse received an MBChB from Medical University of Southern Africa (MEDUNSA) in 2003. He worked in various sectors of Health as a clinician and later a manager of a Health Care Facility.

He specialised when he joined the University of Pretoria and acquired a master's degree in neurosurgery as well as a fellowship in the College of Neurosurgeons at the College of Medicine of South Africa (CMSA). Furthermore, Dr Matshitse is an Independent Medical Examiner for Disability and Impairment, having been certified by the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners (ABIME).

Dr Matshitse treats nervous system disorders affecting the brain, spine and nerves, such as intracranial pathologies, brain tumours, head injuries, concussions, spinal trauma and back and neck pain.
